About

"Thank you so much for the workshop.... I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so informative and has empowered me to do more. The format worked well, especially as I learn much better when I participate and can see visual demonstrations.”

This is a hands-on Fermented Food Workshop, taught by Emma Ellice Flint at the beautiful New Cross Farmhouse on Saturday 11th March

This is a small sized workshop, spanning the entire morning, and culminating in a fabulous healthy lunch featuring many of the fermented foods, plus dishes from Emma's cookbooks.

The day will be jam-packed with lots of information about fermented foods and gut health, easy to follow, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions about fermented foods, gut health and related nutrition health topics.

You will taste many different fermented foods, and make your own to take home.

This is Emma's most popular workshop, which always sells out! Last time Emma ran this workshop at New Cross Farmhouse it sold out within 2 weeks of being released.

Gift vouchers are available for this workshop, please contact Matt at New Cross Farmhouse to discuss.

Plus as part of the workshop you will receive a gift of water Kefir grains, dairy kefir grains, SCOBY starter for Kombucha, and sauerkraut spices, valued at £20. These fermented food starter cultures are included in the price of the workshop.

Why bother eating fermented foods, let alone making them yourself?

Fermented foods contain beneficial probiotics/microbes, as well as prebiotic foods and phytonutrients for those microbes to thrive on. By making them yourself you know that those fermented foods are alive and teaming with benefit. Unlike some shop bought fermented foods which may not have many or any live probiotics in them. Plus making them yourself is better value and really fun!

More recently science has found links between fermented food consumption, the health of the large intestine and mental health. Good news!

Emma Ellice Flint is a clinical nutritionist with a chef's background. In her clinic Emma sees the beneficial results from people eating fermented foods, prebiotics and probiotics, as well as all the fabulous phytonutrients that go with a wholefood way of eating.

Not only do people feel more energetic and vital, they often say how improved their mood has become “from gloomy to flourishing!”

Have you ever thought of your fermented foods as a psychobiotic? You'll learn all about this and much more during the workshop. Emma will talk about the effects on the gut and why that affects your overall health. Have a look at Emma's article here.

This is a personalised teaching workshop, so numbers are limited.

During the workshop:

- Learn from Emma about why fermented foods are good for your gut and overall body and mind health

- Emma will teach you about the different benefits of Kombucha, Kimchi, Miso, Natto, Kefirs to Tempeh and beyond

- Learn about incorporating them into your everyday lives

- Make your own Sauerkraut to ferment and eat at home

- Make your own Kefir drinks to take home, plus learn about second fermenting and adding unusual flavours.

- Make your own kombucha drinks, and take home your own SCOBY culture.

- Sit down with Emma and enjoy a wonderful gut-healthy lunch, prepared by New Cross Farmhouse's owner and all-round-super-guy Matthew Miller.

- Plus as part of the workshop, you will take home a gift of water Kefir grains, dairy kefir grains, SCOBY starter for Kombucha, and sauerkraut & spices, valued at £20. These fermented food starter cultures, ingredients, jars, and lunch are all included in the price of the workshop.
This workshop is open to everyone, any age or gender, all can enjoy making these foods. Come join Emma at this workshop where you will hear and understand more about different healthy ferments and make fermented foods.
